ADVANCE – Miss Ada Shelley, lifelong resident of Boone County, died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at her home on Rt. 2, Jamestown. Miss Shelley, 74, had been in declining health since December of 1968. The deceased was a member of the East Christian Church at Advance and had taught a Sunday school class for many years. Born on May 31, 1895 near Advance, she was the daughter of Jefferson M. and Amanda Alice Caplinger Shelley. She attended the Bushtown school west of the community. Survivors include a brother, Noble T. Shelley, with whom she resided. A brother and a sister are deceased. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Russell & Hitch Funeral Home in Lebanon with Rev. Homer Hunsinger officiating. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Wednesday. – jlr
